I Found A Stolen Coin Spill In The River!

A broken-open lockbox and a pile of coins together lead me to believe that I found the scene of a nefarious activity. The coins were not particularly old, but I could feel the pain of the person who owned the lockbox that was stolen. What else might have been in there?
