Everyone should be able to get the dental care that they need. Adults enrolled in Pennsylvania's Medicaid program often face significant challenges.

This webinar will review Pennsylvania's adult dental benefits and discuss care that is specifically limited. Advocates and care providers can help patients submit a dental benefit limit exception (BLE) the patient requires care that is subject to those limits, yet medically necessary. This is a challenging process that few patients could do on their own.

This webinar will train advocates and providers in the BLE process, point out common problems, provide strategies for troubleshooting, and a present reporting and tracking tool for documenting BLE problems, successes, and results.

Dental advocates have formed the My Teeth Matter campaign to track patient stories and analyze the BLE process in order to streamline the process, make it more user friendly, and ultimately eliminate the benefit limits. This webinar will provide the knowledge that people need to help this important effort.

Participants will learn:
How dental benefits are structured in Pennsylvania's Medicaid program
How to file a benefit limit exception, including the required supporting documentation.
How to review a benefit limit exception request prior to submitting it to ensure it is approved.
How to report an issue or problem with the benefit limit exception, including instances where a client needs care but cannot get the necessary assistance or documentation to file a BLE.
