Summer is prime time to catch topwater fish. If you throw walking baits, poppers, wakebaits, or whopper ploppers with success, it might be time to try a rat.

Rats naturally catch bigger bass than other topwater baits. Smaller fish tend to shy away from taking on a full-size rat but large bass won't hesitate at all. Whether you fish ponds or reservoirs bass are opportunistic and not afraid to blow up on a giant meal.
