US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has once again defended President Donald Trump’s repeated claim that he helped resolve the India-Pakistan conflict, calling the American leader a committed peacemaker on the global stage. Speaking at a year-end press conference, Rubio said Trump has personally prioritised diplomacy and conflict resolution, even in regions that may not directly affect everyday American life.
Rubio highlighted multiple flashpoints where the United States claims to have played a stabilising role, including Russia-Ukraine, India-Pakistan, and tensions between Thailand and Cambodia. He stressed that many of these conflicts have deep historical roots and require sustained diplomatic engagement, something the Trump administration believes only Washington can provide effectively.
According to Rubio, the US has been viewed as “indispensable” in several negotiations, crediting Trump’s direct involvement and leadership style for progress in difficult disputes. The comments come as Trump has repeated his claim of stopping the India-Pakistan conflict nearly 70 times, a statement that continues to attract international scrutiny.
While critics question the extent of US involvement and the accuracy of such claims, Rubio insisted that the President deserves recognition for promoting peace and maintaining active US engagement across multiple geopolitical theatres.
