Mediterranean marine heatwaves ‘becoming more and more frequent’ • FRANCE 24 English

This summer, the surface temperature of the water in the Mediterranean reached 28.7 degrees, the highest daily temperature ever recorded, and researchers say these marine heatwaves - when the water temperature is higher than that registered 90 percent of the time – are becoming more frequent. France 24 joined scientists off the Italian coast who are attempting to monitor these temperature increases and discover the effect they are having on marine life.
