Lakeland College's BAppSc Environmental Management students were showcased at the inaugural Conference on Environmental Management (CEM) on February 26, 2019.

The spacious Vermilion Regional Centre venue was filled with industry members and served as a hub for industry and academia to share information, ideas and resources.

Three breakout rooms housed the Bachelor of Applied Science (BAppSc): Environmental Management capstone presentations. All 4th year students spend 8 months in industry undertaking a project and return to provide a comprehensive presentation at the conference.

The presentations were grouped into themes: Reclamation Initiatives, Soil and Water Management, Vegetation Management, Environmental Monitoring, Wildlife and Grazing Management and Peatland Assessments.

This provided industry attendees an insight in the scope of projects currently operating and our diploma and 3rd year BAppSc enviro students exposure to different career possibilities.

This years student presenters were Stephanie Over, Seanna Paul, Sarah Johnson, Jazlyn Hull, Ashley Kowalchuk, Mark Patzer, Laura Ferguson, Brandon Hrycash, Mackenzie Dow, Nicole Lynn Tymofichuk, Melanie Maloney, Angela Stefura, Jacob Perpeluk, Jennifer Thompson, TaraVoogd, Hannah Musterer, Grace Turner, Kaitlyn Brown and Sarah Mrazek.

Lakeland College would like to congratulate all our student presenters and thank all our practicum host agencies, academic institutions, industry guests and speakers for attending the event and making it such a success. We look forward to seeing you all next year.
