Red and blue Demons boast impressive 50 HP and start attacking in groups. Thankfully, you have been hoarding all those Zappers and Xterminators because now is the time to use them liberally. This slightly changes the combat to a minor strategy oriented one. On Novice you can easily do with your basic shots since Demons are about as tough as a Skeleton on Warrior.
5-6 well aimed Zappers bring one Demon down and Xterminators can be used to similar effects as a shotgun even against a small swarm at careful point-blank range.

The evil Lich himself has 100 HP and otherwise acts as his cultist Mages. However, his flaming skull magic shots cause 25 damage which is the most damage you are going to take in Abyss. Still, the dark lord is a pushover with so many Cure Potions (you are practically immortal even with the more cumbersome strafing on DOS) since his pattern otherwise is nothing special.
Was that really Nemesis..?

I would say Cure Potions on Warrior should have healed less. 10 HP? 20 HP? Something completely different? I do not know. The balancing is already weird in places. Nevertheless, Cure Potions are too potent on Warrior and perhaps on Novice too. Could be an interesting optional "game mode" on the port at some point to change them in some way akin to "limited mana" mode in Catacomb 3D.

The last map in the series is always a monster free road to freedom!
In Abyss, there is a secret room which houses all of the game's cheat codes. You know. That time when there was no console in games with, more or less, universal commands. Funnily enough though, they were immediately changed in Armageddon.
