Garh Panchkot is a ruined fort located in the eastern part of India at the foothills of Panchet Hill in the district of Purulia, West Bengal. The ruins of the Panchkot Palace are a silent testimony to the Bargi attack during the 18th century.

Garh Panchakot was the capital of History of Bengal from 940 A.D. to 1750 A.D. It became the capital of the Panchakot Royal dynasty in 940 A.D. The Panchakot Royal dynasty was established by Damodar Sekhar. He was the son of Raja Jagat Deo. There is a legend associated with Damodar Sekhar.

How to reach Garh Panchkot?

By Rail: The nearest railway station is Kumardobi which can be reached by Black Diamond. The most accessible station is, however, Asansol from there its one hour ride to the resort.

Take Durgapur expressway till Asansol, take right turn to Dishergarh Bridge from Neamatpur, and drive straight reach to Satbari. The right turn from Satbari takes to Garhpanchkot via village roads. By Bus: Reach Asansol or Barakar by bus. You may get a bus or mini bus which will drop you very near to Garhpanchkot.
