SUGARCANE PEST DETECTION AND CONTROL MANAGEMENT USING CNN
ABSTRACT
Due to its lengthy growing season (ten to twelve months), sugarcane is vulnerable to many insect pest attacks. Insect infestations are thought to reduce sugarcane productivity by 20–25%. There are about 200 insects that infest sugarcane, and almost a dozen of them severely reduce the crop's quality and yield. In India, sugarcane is widely grown in two different agroclimatic zones known as tropical and subtropical regions. 42.9% of the nation's total area planted to sugarcane lies in the tropical zone, which includes the states of Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Orissa, and Kerala.U.P., Bihar, Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, M.P., Rajasthan, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Assam, and other North and Northeastern states make up the subtropical region, which makes up 57.1 percent of the nation's total cane acreage. The sub-tropical and tropical sugarcane belts have different insect problem situations. While internodes borer and early shoot borer are common in tropical regions, top borer, shoot borer, and stalk borer are more common in sub-tropical regions. India has the largest area dedicated to sugarcane growing and is one of the world's leading producers. From germination to harvest, a variety of insect pests harm the crop. Both output and sugar recovery are impacted by insect attack-related losses in sugarcane.
