Albania is a fascinating country in South Eastern Europe. Completely closed off to the world for over 40 years under a communist dictator, Albania is quickly modernising. Travellers are beginning to come to this country for it's diverse scenery, snow-capped mountains, turquoise beaches, it's friendly locals and affordability.

But there's another side to public perceptions of Albania - The media and pop-culture have often portrayed Albania as a dangerous country. We heard a lot of negative things about the country before we came, but in usual Nigel and Sue Adventures fashion, we wanted to see for ourselves.

Will Albania live up to the stereotypes? Or will we find something completely different?
