The 2017 PGA RBC Heritage tournament takes place from April 13 through April 16,. at the Sea Pines Resort on Hilton Head in South Carolina.
This event dates back to 1969 and has grown into a popular stop on the PGA Tour.
The RBC Heritage prize pool has grown to nearly $6 million with the winner getting more than $1 million


Some of the early commitments for the 2017 event include past champions Branden Grace, Jim Furyk, Stewart Cink, Matt Kuchar, Graeme McDowell and Brandt Snedeker.
Other marquee names include Luke Donald, Jason Dufner, Erne Els, Webb Simpson, Paul Casey and Martin Kaymer..
The tournament WILL BE played at the Harbour Town Golf Links at The Sea Pines Resort. This course has been ranked as one of the Top 100 in America.
The Golf Channel will provide TV coverage on Thursday and Friday with CBS picking up the action on the weekend.

Davis Love III has won this tournament a record 5 times.
Hale Irwin won 3 times, while 7 other golfers have won 2 Heritages - Johnny Miller, Hubert Green, Tom Watson, Fuzzy Zoeller, Payne Stewart, Stewart Cink and Boo Weekley.
There have been 3 RBC Heritage champs who have repeated, Davis Love III, Payne Stewart and Boo Weekley. The lowest score by a Heritage winner was 264 by Brian Gay in 2009.
Three years ago it was 91 players making the cut which tied a PGA Tour record.

The 2017 event is one that has “invitational” status which means the field is limited to only 132 players. There are only 4 other PGA Tour events that have invitational status which means there are 132 players instead of the 150 or so in a normal event.
