In this session titled ‘The Indian Constitution: A Living Document’, our speaker Achyut Chetan highlights the impact of our constitutional provisions on the nation and its people.

Achyut Chetan is a scholar and professor who deploys pedagogy as a means for social transformation in marginal areas. He obtained graduate, post-graduate and doctoral degrees in English from the Visva-Bharati University in Santiniketan, where he also served briefly as a guest lecturer. A recipient of Sir Ratan Tata Trust Fellowship, the Charles Wallace Trust India Fellowship, the Fulbright-Nehru Doctoral and Professional Research Fellowship, and the South Asian Studies Fellowship, Chetan works with a firm conviction in constitutional morality. He has been a professor of English at Santal Parganas College in Dumka, Jharkhand and currently teaches at St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata
