Unbelievable traffic jam and the noise pollution:

Traffic jam is not a new phenomenon in Chattogram city which is getting worse day by day!

With the increase in number of vehicles along with migrants, the city is experiencing a huge rush of rickshaws and also motorized vehicles,resulting in expected jam on the city roads.

Chattogram or Chittagong,the port city’s traffic congestion, in the last few years have turned from bad to worse.

To reduce traffic jam, the government should consider construction of roads as well as clearing of unauthorised shops from roads and from footpaths.

Building of flyovers alone will not solve this problem. Government should consider increasing public transport system, Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system, and Metro-Rail system.

Studies showed that Chittagong is environmentally polluted with noise. The noise levels are 75.29 to 90.12 dB which exceeds the maximum allowable limit of 65 dB. These is a bad habit of unnecessary use of horns which increases the noise level.
