Philippines Indigenous defenders call for protection

A territorial dispute that led to violence against Indigenous activists in the southern Philippines has highlighted the dangers faced by environmental defenders.
Police say the group was trespassing and ignored a warning shot.
As elections draw near, many say environmental protection must be at the top of the next administration’s agenda in a country considered one of the most dangerous places for environmental defenders.
