Chladni Sand Plates explained with FEniCSx!

Описание к видео Chladni Sand Plates explained with FEniCSx!

In this simulation, we recreated the Chladni experiment, by imposing a displacement on the center of the plate (through a Dirichlet boundary condition). Just like in the real experiment, the sand would gather along the nodal lines, here in green. The simulation helps us understand exactly where these patterns come from.

Depending on the shape of the plate and the vibration frequency, we see different patterns. These derive from the different modal shapes that arise. The higher the frequency, the more complex the patterns can become.
