Sustainable Silicon to Intelligent Clouds: Building the Compute Infrastructure of the Future

As we reflect on twenty five years of warehouse-scale computing and look ahead, the future looks bright. The next wave of innovations will underpin all hyperscale companies and cloud platforms, and form the foundation for the next wave of AI-ML computing in the cloud. This talk will chronicle the journey so far and the key lessons learnt, and the opportunities ahead to go from idea to impact. We will discuss disruptive innovations from “mud to cloud, from datacenter infrastructure to broader cloud computing services; and from “chip to ship, from the design of hardware to their deployment and usage in production. We will highlight new Google announcements (around AI hardware, security, trust, sustainability, and infrastructure). Codesign and collaboration — across the hardware-software stack, across disciplines, and across communities — will be key to this exciting new future.
