Country Christmas Special 2023 y'all! | Southern Family Christmas Dinner

Cornbread Dressing
Ingredients:
Cornbread
chicken broth
salt and pepper
ground sage
onion
2 boiled eggs

Make cornbread however you like to make it. I use the Martha White or White Lilly southern cornbread recipe. When the cornbread is done and cooled, crumble it up into a large bowl. Add in salt and pepper to taste, 2 chopped boiled eggs, one whole onion chopped, 1 cup of chicken broth and about 1 tablespoon of ground sage. Mix well. When it is all mixed together add more chicken broth until you get it to the consistency you want it to be. The more broth you add, the more moist your dressing will be. When I get it to the consistency we prefer, I taste it to see if I need to add anymore sage, salt, or pepper. All those are just added to taste. Put into a 9 X 13 baking dish and bake at 350° for 30-40 minutes, until the top begins to brown.

Oven Baked Macaroni & Cheese
Ingredients:
16 oz elbow macaroni, cooked & drained according to package directions
32 oz shredded sharp cheddar cheese
8 oz shredded mild cheddar cheese
4 Tablespoon butter
1/2 cup to 1 cup of milk
2 eggs, beaten

Preheat oven to 350. Add all ingredients, except the mild cheddar, into a large bowl and mix well. Pour into a greased 9X13 casserole dish. Bake for 30 minutes.

Creamed Corn Recipe
Ingredients:
4 tbsp unsalted butter
2 tbsp flour
1 cup whole milk
4 cups whole kernel frozen corn
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt

Directions:
Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
Stir in flour and cook for about 2-3 mins.
Stir in milk until combined with the flour mixture.
Cook the milk and flour mixture on medium heat until the milk begins to thicken, 5-10 minutes.
Once the milk has thickened then stir in the corn, salt, pepper, and sugar. Stir frequently to prevent burning.
Cover and reduce heat to medium-low. Stir every few minutes. Cook corn for 10 mins, until corn is no longer frozen.
Serve immediately. Refrigerate leftovers.
