Assuming the new economic stimulus package is passed by the House and signed into law by the President this week, gig economy workers could become eligible for unemployment compensation benefits. UPDATE: It was approved / passed on March 27th!

Workers can file for benefits online at www.labor.alabama.gov or by calling 1-866-234-5382. Online filing is encouraged. All of the above it subject to change.
