Visit the city of Ely, the ship of the Fens

Описание к видео Visit the city of Ely, the ship of the Fens

Ely, is England's second smallest city. Cathedral is its most famous landmark, it is visible quite far away due to the flat landscape of this area. It is known as the ship of the Fens, as the Ely Cathedral towers above the surrounding flatland.
Due to is small size it is possible to get around the city on foot without the need for a car or a public transport. You can enjoy a pleasant walk along the Riverside, Jubilee Gardens, Cherry Hill Gardens and go inside Cromwell's House.
Parking is free in the city and it is free to enter Ely Cathedral too
Ely is well known as a movie location. These titles were filmed here: The Crown, The King's Speech, Elizabeth the Golden Age, The Other Boleyn Girl, Macbeth and so on.
In case you are wondering what is the opening scene of this video with Ely Cathedral in the distance. This is the place where Pink Floyd shot the video to their song 'High Hopes' from the album Division Bell (1994). Also on the album cover you can see Ely Cathedral between those 2 big heads.
