Crossing type: Manually Controlled Barrier crossing with Obstacle Detection (MCB-OD)

Filming location: East Dean Road, East Dean (SP5 1HH)

A rural, full-barrier level crossing with an obstacle detection system located in the Test Valley near the Hampshire / Wiltshire border and the tiny village of East Dean. This level crossing dates back to an extensive renewal which happened in the mid-2010's, due to re-signalling in the area most-likely. As well as four LED wigwags, one of which has a full set of long shades and is quite a way forward from the crossing owing to that side's road bend, it has two E2S 'Appello' alarms for audible warnings, and one is loud and clear with the other quieter and distorted-sounding. One of the off-side barriers also strikes the ground particularly hard when lowering too.
