SQL Server Diagnostic Queries - Part 1

In this video, we are going to cover Query 1, which is Version Info. This query gives you detailed information about the version, edition, and build of SQL Server you are running along with information about your operating system. We will also cover Query 2, Core Counts, and Query 3, Server Properties.

With this video, I begin the process of running through each of my SQL Server 2019 Diagnostic Information Queries, explaining what each query does and how to interpret the results of each query.

This series of videos will go through the complete set of my SQL Server 2019 Diagnostic Information Queries. These queries are available for free at glennsqlperformance.com/resources.

Note: There are separate versions of these queries for every major version of SQL Server starting with SQL Server 2005. The general concepts in these videos are applicable to all versions of SQL Server, Azure SQL Database, and SQL Managed Instance.
