Korean citizens and the group “Action Against the Arms Fair” carried out a “Red Hand” protest at ADEX, Korea’s largest arms exhibition, to condemn Israeli military companies for their war crimes. The action drew significant attention from the media and the public.

This year’s ADEX saw the largest-ever participation of Israeli arms companies in Korea. In front of IAI (Israel Aerospace Industries), we stood for five minutes, repeatedly shouting the following chants before continuing with a silent protest:

“Stop the genocide!”
“Stop the arms fair!”

In most cases, such performances are immediately stopped by security guards or police. Yet on this day, about thirty of us stood together — and the organizers could do nothing but watch. They did not dare to silence us.

We had previously submitted to the Korean government a petition signed by around 3,000 people, demanding that Israeli war-crime companies be banned from entering Korea and participating in ADEX. However, the government ignored our call, and its silence compelled us to take direct action on that day.

We share our story — and our solidarity — with citizens around the world who oppose and resist Israel’s massacre in Gaza, and who, through the BDS movement, continue to confront military and logistics companies complicit in these crimes.
