The Lozano Long Workshop explores critical approaches to participatory mapping in terms of indigenous territoriality in Latin America, building on collaborative research conducted under the LLILAS Initiative on Participatory Mapping and the Struggle for Rights and Resources. The Workshop highlights the perspectives of indigenous and Afro-descendant intellectuals who are critically reconceptualizing the roles of participatory mapping in and by indigenous communities. Workshop participants represent the radical edge of a new social cartography with significant lessons for participatory mapping in marginalized communities across the globe. In this public event, participants will share their theoretical and critical reflections and invite questions from the audience.
