Now the second Citaro C2 O295 to feature on the channel is MEC69! Here being an unusual sighting on Rail Replacement for one, it is taken through long stretches, tackling many gradients... more hills than flats from what I can remember. 🤣 MEC69 in particular was not the fastest, but was definitely revving to it's peak in each gear, unsurprisingly resulting in the length of this video... I'd have shaved off a couple more minutes otherwise. Numerous hillclimb sections caused the bus to hold onto it's gear as long as it could before upshifting. Due to the bus being limited to 50mph, there are many pullaways from 1st into 5th at best, then a short shift into 6th when the throttle is released... there also several Double Kickdowns from 6th through to 4th, but personally I favour the ones from 5th through to 3rd, producing some nice over-revs mid shift! Other harsh downshifts would have been from 3rd - 2nd for sure. As quiet as these are, they do pack a punch as expected from a German-builtbus but I do recommend you wear a headset of your choice so you don't miss out anything... especially that one triple downshift! 😉
