In this interview, Pablo Pennisi, associate professor at Aalborg University and the STRONG-UR project coordinator, explains why STRONG-UR is set to revolutionise tissue reconstruction with bioprinting. He also unveils how the project will personalise the architecture and composition of the tissue structures.

ℹ️ STRONG-UR comes to revolutionise the repair of damaged tissue by creating advanced bioprinted tissue structures. This project focuses on the treatment of male urethral strictures which affect a significant proportion of men, causing both physical complications and psychological distress, and challenging healthcare resources. With specifically designed 3D bioprinter components and biomaterials, STRONG-UR seeks to make personalised, engineered tissue available for medical use.
