Reading & Northern 2102: Ramblin' In The Rain 10/14/23

And here's the big one!

Last year, we attempted to chase the recently restored Reading & Northern 2102 on the railroad's "Fall Foliage" excursion, but sadly that came with a price as the 4-8-4 broke down when they got to Port Clinton, PA. I'm pleased to say that this time around, it was much different.

After spending a day with WMSR 1309 and another with N&W 611, we made our way North to the Reading & Northern Railroad to see Reading 2102 power this year's Fall Foliage excursion from Reading to Jim Thorpe. While the weather wasn't the best, the RBMN crews didn't hold back with giving the massive 4-8-4 a workout on the grades combined with the wet rails. In addition to the 2102 we also get some glimpses at the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway Train as well as the three Budd RDC Cars, which had broken down and were assisted by two of the railroad's diesels.
