Worldbuilding your story’s setting is very easy to approach sequentially (first geography, then tech, etc.). But a network-based method which integrates spontaneous ideas, expectations, and reasoning is likely much more interesting for you and your audience. Its vagueness makes it tricky, but I might be able to help in defining three “steps” or tips you can take with you, providing (and showcasing ;P) my own example along the way: Awdech.

Awdech is a fictional near future mining outpost set up in a cave network, 4 km below sea level, which I plan to make a story-animation about. As of right now, I'm working on the setting but am still to start on things like plot and characters.
