I'll have to go to the manager if Achilia's defeat of the Scythian doesn't show up in a supercut of the greatest killings in the Spartacus world. The image of the woman's head being opened across her mouth with a shield is still in my mind.
According to the episode's official logline, "Ashur struggles with the emotional consequences of his actions, while Achilia returns to the arena to face her greatest challenge."
The Major Event
It's the death match between Achilia the Nubian and the Scythian; it's hardly the Super Bowl or anything.
This is the century's most important event. There has never been a woman in the arena before, but two women? That is a story for the ages.
I love seeing women disrupt male-dominated sectors, and these games have always been dominated by guys.
Achilia, however, sees this battle as more than just creating history. She has the chance to defeat the woman who killed her beloved, Celadus, and gain her freedom if she prevails.
Tarchon is shown practicing alongside her, demonstrating that the objective is powerful enough to unite two mortal foes. Is this his last attempt to unseat her as champion, or has he come to terms with the fact that he must help Achilia win?
Tarchon is a skilled fighter who can identify his opponents' weaknesses despite his many shortcomings.


Although he might not have been spared the beating in Episode 9, he could theoretically assist Achilia in honing her craft.

And on the most fundamental level, he will give her his all during training because he hates her. The notion that your friend is actually your worst adversary is the only thing that makes your survival instincts go into overdrive.
Achilia x Tarchon: An Unstoppable Power I now adore Tarchon.
It's unfortunate that his father's passing was necessary for him to reach adulthood.
Nothing much has changed between them when we return to the Ludus and see Achilia getting ready for the Primus. However, Tarchon has modified his position after being humbled.
I have always defended Tarchon's fighting skills. He is able to take advantage of his opponent's flaws, not because he is the finest fighter.
Additionally, having battled Achilia, he is aware of her weaknesses, such as the way she totally rejects her weaker side.
He chooses to step in because he needs to defeat the Scythian, not because he usually cares for her.

A shared goal between these two is what I've been praying for. The Ludus's frequent crashes were becoming tiresome.

He pushes her, too, oh boy. Someone would have assumed he loathed her and was out to kill if they had first entered that room.

However, his efforts are rewarded, and Achilia triumphantly defeats Primus, exacting revenge on her deceased beloved and bringing honor to the House of Ashur.
