It has been quite a long time since I've pulled out my watercolors! Last year I made a bunch of mixed media bookmarks and had a request for some more "Birds on a Wire" bookmarks. I decided to film it for something a little different! This really makes me want to get back into watercolors again.

I used Canson watercolor paper that I cut into 2 inch x 7 inch strips. I have Mod Podge for gluing and pages from a book for a background. I glue the book pages onto the watercolor paper, let sit for just a minute and then pull off. This transfers the lettering and some pieces of paper from the book onto the paper. I like doing this as each one turns out different and has a different background from each other.

I let this dry for a bit. You can use any color you want for your background. I am using Shinhan watercolors and doing a light wash in a brown. You could also do this in blues and maybe some greens for a more sky effect.
