What Lies Beneath The Mangroves ep. 45

Mangroves are the lifeblood of many coral reefs and protectors of many coastlines. In this episode we will explore the amazing mangrove forest in Bonaire's famous Lac Bay. You experience an alien world beneath this forest canopy that most will never see in their lifetime. You will learn about the mangroves symbiotic relationship to the amazing fringing reef of Lac Bay. We will first take you diving on this incredible reef and then take you deep inside the protective mangroves that you can only see, with limitations, through a local guide unless you are given special permission. See tarpon hiding deep within the forests canopy. See upside down jellyfish, anemones, juvenile fish that most will never see on the reef as the get their start in mangrove nursery. We will show you that there is life everywhere you turn - including on the mangrove roots. We will also share some of the unique challenges of filming a location like this. There is so much more.
