In the first part of Matt Noestheden's chat with Dr. Wesley Zandberg, they discussed prebiotics in milk and milk products and the importance of understanding Human Milk Oligosaccharides (HMOs).

Dr. Wesley Zandberg, Assistant Professor, University of British Colombia completed his PhD and post-doctorate studies at Simon Fraser University. Working on projects that aimed at developing inhibiters for the enzymes that break down the complex carbohydrates, Wesley was introduced to the challenges associated with the analysis of these surprisingly complex range of carbohydrates found in nature. Now, students in the Zandberg lab are focused on developing improved glycol-analytical methods.
