This song is one of the most performed songs by Alice.
She learnt this song in 1978 while she was in 12th grade.
At the time since a tape recorder wasn't affordable for her family she learned the song through audiation.
In those days there was a radio broadcast (Vividha Bharathi) from Sri Lanka where they used to play new Hindi songs from 8am to 9am everyday. She used to listen to it everyday to write down the lyrics and consequentially learned the song by heart.
To this day she still performs the song on every live show and has performed it over 10,000 times (documented and undocumented) throughout India, the United States, Singapore, all Gulf countries except Saudi Arabia.
