Most Common Winter Flower Chandramallika and Dahlia.

We all know the name of Chandramallika. When we talk about winter flowers in our Bengali climate, the names of Chandramallika or chrysanthemums and dahlias come up first. Chrysanthemum flowers are propagated by cutting the tree. The cuttings are planted in the middle of the monsoon, i.e. in late August or early September. Flowers start blooming from November to December. There are many types of chandramallika / chrysanthemum flowers, usually large chandramallika / chrysanthemums are snowballs, the smallest chrysanthemum is the Pune variety and some flowers are completely round like small ping pong balls, they are pompons variety of chandramallika (chrysanthemums). In addition, some open petals are just curved those are spider variety and brush like petals are brush variety. White, yellow, purple, maroon is common colour of chandramallika. Once the trees are dry, they can be left as mother plants for next year's cutting.

The beauty of the garden is enhanced by planting gorgeous colourful Dahlia flowers in the garden of the house or on the roof garden. The height of the tree varies from one to one and a half meters. The dahlia flower plant is usually made from tuber or bulb. The tree should be planted in a place well lit sunny area. The colour of dahlia vary from red to white, yellow, purple, pink and multicolor. In the case of planting chandramallika (chrysanthemum) and dahlia flowers, special attention has to be paid to the drainage system.
