A struggling actress/Hebrew school teacher seeks career advice from her sage 5th-grade students.

Avigail is an optimistic, aspiring actress who currently teaches at a local elementary. Her story,
an entire embodiment of an audition, features her 5th-grade students who hear her out while
she seeks advice. One of her dear students plays the producer role as her family owns a major
company and evaluates her teacher’s performance. Avigail tries to forge her own path as an
actress while trying to win a leading production for an original story. Full of purpose and
determination, she comes up with the biggest of inspirations thanks to her sister: to recreate
and make known grandma’s story with a strong Jewish family legacy.

Her spontaneous and childlike perspective gives her a brand new encouraged and optimistic
position, promising her success with hard work. While her students assure and guide her
through her own “La La Land” process, we pry into its credibility just as we fight both Avigail’s
opposing forces: her optimism versus reality. After writing up her tear-jerking script, the eager
actress makes it through the winning stage where, ironically, she now must audition for her own
story to become the main character.

When everything is against her, worried about her competitors, comparing herself to
other’s Instagram followers, popularity, and age, Avigail even gets doubtful about her own
talent and opportunity, while all seems lost against the bottom line of the industry she desires
to be in. Proving the crude reality, someone else gets the role she created. Avigail realizes her original story will not be what she intended to be, no matter how much effort she had put into it.
Embracing her unexpected outcome, she understands the real deal, and as a result of great
performances and direction, we understand this lively short film represents perfectly the irony
of an entire industry.
