What’s the difference between upload and download speeds?
Before understanding what the difference is between upload and download speeds, you need to know the difference between upload and download actions in your home network.

Download actions refer to cases where data is being sent from the internet to the devices in your home network. For example, these actions include loading a web page in your internet browser, streaming a YouTube video, or saving a file from the internet to your device.

Download speeds are just a measure of how quickly your internet plan allows you to perform download actions.

When it comes to upload actions, they are the opposite of download actions. Upload actions occur when the devices in your home network are sending data to the internet. These actions include transferring a file to cloud storage like Google Drive, live streaming a gaming session, or your video/audio portion of a Zoom conference call. All of these actions involve sending data to the internet instead of receiving data from it.

Upload speeds are just a measure of how quickly your internet plan allows you to perform upload actions.
