Описание к видео San Agustin Church. Convento to Museum: Secrets Revealed. A Renacimiento Manila Tour.

The San Agustin Church, completed in 1607, is the oldest stone church in the country. In 1993, San Agustin Church was one of four Philippine churches constructed during the Spanish colonial period to be designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, under the collective title Baroque Churches of the Philippines.
It's monastery, built during the same period, is one of the biggest and oldest in the country. It is now a museum that contains probably the biggest collections of religious artifacts and artworks in Asia.
Join us as we uncover the many secrets of the church and the convent as when we participated on the tour organized by Renacimiento Manila. Let Diego Torres give us more details about their history as we visit its crypt, sacristy, hidden chambers, library, choir loft and many secret passages. We discovered the tomb of Painter Juan Luna, and got to know how the famous trompe-l'œil painting on the ceiling was made.
We also got to walk through Calle Arzobispo and visited Araullo Building, Palacio Arzobispal, the San Ignacio Church and the Ateneo Municipal.
