Explain & Verify | Cabinet announcement - 27 June 2024

Today marks the eighth day after ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa was sworn in as the president of the country's seventh democratic administration. However, the president has yet to announce his cabinet. There appears to be a standoff between the ANC and the DA over the allocation of key cabinet positions. There are leaked letters purported to be from both parties. Neither party has agreed nor denied these letters. However, it seems the parties negotiations are at advanced stages. The GNU currently has 10 political parties it remains to be seen which parties get much sought-after cabinet positions.
