✨Hello everyone welcome to my video,
This is the last day of our 5-day section hike on the GR5, one of the best long distance hiking trails in Europe!
You could also say it's day 109 of the 113 days we needed to complete the GR5 in 2021.
In 2020 we hiked an Italian alternative of the GR5 (GTA) and now we're hiking the French version!
Today we're hiking from Rimplas to Saint Martin Vésubie. The plan is to hike 13.7km (8.7mls), to climb a total of 718m (2355ft) and go down 765m (2509ft), hopefully we'll make it!

The GR5 is a long distance trails in Europe. 2170km (1348Miles) between the North sea in the Netherlands and the Mediterranean sea in Nice, France!
Since 2005 we have been hiking the GR5 with some friends. We started out with day- and weekend-hikes when we were close to our home in Belgium. Since 2013 we have been doing one section every year, each time between 6 and 8 days at the time.
In 2021 we finally got to put our feet in the Mediterranean sea and finish the GR5!
But in 2020 we couldn't hike the section we planned because due to COVID19, we were not allowed in the area, so we had to find an alternative! We hiked a parallel path in Italy (on the GTA).
This year we hike those 5 days again, but now on the French side!
