In this tutorial I'm going to show you how to use Mixed In Key 11 and the new Mixed In Key Live to easily find the key of songs and samples. This is the most reliable way of key detection out there, and it's widely used by the top DJs and producers for that very reason. When producing music, using samples that match the key of your song is essential. For example, a kick that is tuned to the key of the track can make a huge impact. Mixed In Key 11 allows you to easily organize your sample packs and filter the samples by key, tempo and more. This can significantly speed up your workflow and help you make songs that harmonize better. Mixed In Key 11 is also great for autotuning. Simply drag in any vocal recording, and it will instantly show the correct key.
The new Mixed In Key Live is another very useful software that can be set to stay on top at all time, just like the helper menu in FL Studio. It can be resized to become quite small, so it won't ever be in the way. It will instantly show the key and tempo of any sample or audio that passes through your system. This is extremely useful when browsing for samples for example. There are many ways to detect the key of samples and audio files, but Mixed In Key is one of the most reliable ways to do it. It's also very quick and easy.
