Making siding segments- bent lamination

Описание к видео Making siding segments- bent lamination

A short video of a part of the project I've been working on for the last month or so. The project is a bent lamination siding that consists of 52 horizontal larch segments. Each segment is glued from six 7mm x 100mm slats. Radius is approx. 135cm. and the glue used is two component melamine glue. It takes arround 7 hours for the glue to harden so I had just enough time to glue 2 segments each day using one mould. Finished siding will be assembled around the part of the house that surrounds a round staircase.
I started by cutting and planing larch planks into 5x10cm pieces. Each board is then cut lengthwise into 8mm thin strips which are planed down to 7 mm. For the mould, I used leftover beams which I milled on the cnc robot to desired shape. Pieces are then fastened using wood screws to flat board and coated with wax to prevent glue from sticking to it. After gluing, segment is removed and the whole procedure is repeated.
