I wanted to put some alternative words to this old folk song from the 1800s, Where did you sleep last night (In the pines), also covered by Ledbelly and Nirvana. I wanted the new words to loosely point to Mary Magdalene seeing the risen Jesus but keep the structure and a few words of the original song*, so that it is recognisable. I only wrote them this morning. Aimi caught me with her phone trying to sing them for the very first time.
*Turns out it was a medley of two old songs, so I'm far from the first to mess about with it.
