Members of the California State Guard's Detachment 1, Military Museum Command being trained on how to properly prepare historic flags for long term storage.

In this case, the unit members were working with the recently stabilized colors of the 1st California Field Artillery Battalion, now the 1st Battalion, 143rd Field Artillery Regiment.

The Military Museum Command's mission is to support the California Military Department's Military History and Museums Program.
