On January 8th, 2023, officers were called about two suspicious individuals trespassing on private property in Highland Park, Illinois. When officers arrived, they observed a male, who was later identified as Angel, standing on the sidewalk and another male, who was later identified as Peter, in a ditch. Peter came up from the ditch and was ordered by officers to turn around and talk to them to figure out what was going on. It appears as though Peter moved in a way that was threatening to officers, and they took him down to handcuff him. The scene continued like an episode straight out of Reno 911. The body camera video of the crashed vehicle in the ditch was not able to be obtained from the police department.

Angel was charged with a misdemeanor for driving under the influence. He was placed on a 12-month court supervision that was successfully completed, and his DUI charge was dismissed.

Peter was charged with felony aggravated battery to an officer, which was amended in court to a misdemeanor count of battery. He was found guilty of the misdemeanor count of battery and was sentenced to a 12-month probation, 6 days in jail, and 100 hours of public service.
