Emmanuel Séjourné (b. 1961) is a French composer and percussionist, and head of percussion at the Conservatoire de Strasbourg. His music is influenced by Western classical music and by popular music (rock, jazz, extra-European music). Emmanuel Sejourne's Concerto for Marimba and Strings was commissioned by Bogdan Bacanu and written in 2005. This concerto highlights the dynamic range and expressive capabilities of the marimba, showcasing why it's considered top repertoire for marimba and orchestra.
