A week with Lang Tengah Turtle Watch

Описание к видео A week with Lang Tengah Turtle Watch

If you are looking for a Gap Week or Gap Month to run away from your work, to ponder about life, or to plan for your future, at the same time you want to experience something meaningful, Lang Tengah Turtle Watch gives you the opportunity to volunteer.

LTTW is the project to safeguarding the nesting population of turtles in Terengganu, Malaysia. Lang Tengah, the small island between Perhentian and Redang, is the less crowded and non commercialize yet it has equally stunning white sand and clear sea compare to the popular beaches. Walking on the beach, you will never encounter the people asking you to sit on their beanbag or beach chair, selling you water activity package, or promoting the massage services.

Presence of the volunteer on the island is the main deterrent to the turtle egg poachers. We patrol at night on the beach with copious amount of shooting stars right in the sky, checking the nests to ensure healthy growth of the eggs, cleaning the beach, snooker for free, chasing for sharks, playing beach volley ball with the locals and take turn to cook for the volunteer team member from around the world. LTTW only open from March to October.

Notes:
- Don't go if you can't live without 24hrs access to data/wifi
- Don't go if you can't sleep with the sounds from bat mating and ocean waves
- Don't go if you will ever feel stress from being too free
