Fiji - Meke Performed By Women In Koromakawa Village Along The Navua River

Описание к видео Fiji - Meke Performed By Women In Koromakawa Village Along The Navua River

The Meke is similar, in concept, to the Hawaiian Hula in that it conveys history and cultural stories through song and movements. Unlike Hula, the female version of the Fijian dance is often performed by seated dancers. The male version is almost always performed standing as it demonstrates warrior-like motions and stories.

This was taken at a functioning Fijian village/cultural center along the Navua River.
