Today, Lawman Guitars is Presenting..

A beautiful 1957 USA Fender Musicmaster Guitar in Desert Sand with the anodized aluminum Pickguard. It also comes with the Original Red Bulwin Hardshell Case....

I am dating this as a 1957. It has a March of 1957 neck and body…pots and pickup are correct for that year...It also has the serial number plate for 1957.. See pics…

Here's some history of these cool vintage Fender guitars...

1955–1963
Design work on the Musicmaster-and its two-pickup variant

-began in late 1955 following a request from Fender Sales. Prototypes were made in early 1956, followed by sales literature announcing both models. Production of the Musicmaster began in late April of that year, using a body routed for two pickups to be common to the Duo-Sonic, which followed a little more than two months later. The Duo-Sonic and Musicmaster also shared a single-piece maple neck and fingerboard, with a 22.5 inch scale neck with 21 frets.

There was one major redesign of these two Musicmaster-bodied guitars, in 1959 when the entire Fender catalog was updated. At this time, the Musicmaster and Duo-Sonic both received a plastic pickguard in place of the previous anodized aluminum one, and a two-piece maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard.

I especially love the mellow color the Desert Sand finish has become. You cannot replicate that look. With the original anodized aluminum pickguard, this is the color combo you want in one of these. It was Fenders most popular…I love the look!
This fantastic Fender Musicmaster guitar has dings and scratches as you would expect from a guitar of this vintage. The wear is all player wear and not abuse. Its worn in all the right places…frets have some pits in the upper frets. Still plenty of fret life for you... see pics...The only thing that is wrong with this guitar is the previous owner replaced the tuners at some point in time. It has Fender Dual line Klusons on it. It would have had single line tuners. The pickup sounds massive and the action is low and set up great. It has not been refretted and appears to have the original nut. Original Pickguard, tailpiece and knobs. This is a time capsule that some lucky guitar player or collector will love to own. Check out the pics of this beauty. Its awesome!

As cool as the guitar is, the original case is also fantastic. It’s a Bulwin Case made in CA…The latches, handle and hinges are all correct and still operating. The red felt lining is still there and in pretty good shape. One end of the case was missing. Jeff the Tech fixed that with a new piece of wood... The leather neck restraint strap is missing but its still a great original case for this cool guitar..What a time capsule this guitar and case is…

This guitar is being sold as-is no returns as its vintage and used. However, I have been handpicking my customers guitars for over 20 years now and they have all loved the instruments I find. This one will not be an exception.

Thanks for checking out our cool guitars, amps and gear …
