British sculptor Carl Payne was born in Staffordshire.

Carl was a Staffordshire based sculptor for whom art had played a large part in his academic work taking him through the Burslem School of Art, the Henry Doulton School of Sculpture and then to Stafford College.

During his education he studied Figurative Sculpture and began on his first commission in 2000. Since then, Carl had completed commissions for some of the world's most famous figures, his work was extensive and includes many household names from the sporting world, commerce and the past. As a highly acclaimed bronze artist, his sculptures had captivated collectors around the world.

Carl Payne was an accomplished figurative sculptor, taking inspiration from music, the female form and a host of artistic figures including Rodin, Alfred Gilbert and Charles Sargant Jaggerm. He was part of an artistic movement in which technical skill, quality and craftsmanship are valued and enjoyed within a modern and forward thinking aesthetic.

Carl Payne said; "My sculpture is figurative art at its highest level. Each created piece becomes a doorway through which we can pass into that illusive dimension beyond the physical. Demand for my work allows me to give full reign to my creative impulses. I turn and turn again to the human figure for its drama, its narrative content and endless capacity for expressing the spiritual in line and form."
