With a sprained ankle there can be up to six major misalignments in the foot leading to many other foot issues like pronation issues, bunions and plantar fasciitis. The order in which the bones of of the foot can misalign with a sprained ankle are: anterior superior talus, posterior fibula, posterior lateral calcaneus, inferior navicular, superior cuboid, inferior middle cuneiform. In addition, dropped metatarsal heads can occur leading to hammer toes.
