Circle Of Life- The Lion King (lyrics)

I haven't uploaded a video in a long time, and I felt like I needed to soon. I wasn't sure which Disney movie to start off with next, but with yesterday's release of The Lion King in 3D, I decided I would do The Lion King. This was always my favorite Disney movie as a child.

"One of the most popular Disney animated musicals, The Lion King presents the story of a lion cub's journey to adulthood and acceptance of his royal destiny. Simba begins life as an honored prince, the son of the powerful King Mufasa. The cub's happy childhood turns tragic when his evil uncle, Scar, murders Mufasa and drives Simba away from the kingdom. - The opening chant is in a language known as Zulu. It translates as: "Here comes a lion, Father / Oh yes, it's a lion / Here comes a lion, Father / Oh yes, it's a lion / A lion we're going to conquer / A lion a lion and a leopard come to this open place/"

- The song was composed by Elton John, and the lyrics were written by Tim Rice.

- Carmen Twillie sings the female vocals, and Lebo M. sings the opening chant.

- In 1994, "Circle Of Life" was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Song and won.

- "Circle Of Life" reached #11 in the UK and #18 in the US.
